Description
The FT-300 is designed for precise measurement of surface insulation resistivity on coated electrical steel sheets, laminations, and individual samples. It serves as a vital tool for assessing the quality and effectiveness of insulating coatings. The equipment offers both manual and automatic configuration options for the drilling process, allowing flexibility based on user needs. A pneumatic pressure mechanism ensures consistent and reliable contact during measurement. The entire setup and execution of the measurement process are carried out in accordance with the BIS:649 standard, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and high testing accuracy.
Operating Principle
The FT-300 operates by measuring the current that flows through the insulation coating of a specimen when uniform pressure is applied via multiple contact points. This measured current is used to calculate surface resistivity value, making the system particularly effective for quality control of insulation coatings.
The test head is designed with two longitudinal rows, each consisting of five vertically mounted rods. At end of each rod, a brass measuring contact is mounted to ensure reliable electrical contact with the coated surface.
A pneumatically actuated surface plate moves perpendicularly toward the brass contact, applying a consistent pressure of 300 PSI to the insulation layer. Electrical contact with the specimen is established using a manual or automatic drilling mechanism to expose the conductive layer.
The FT-300 then calculates and displays the surface resistivity of the sample. This value is calculated from the average current measured on both surfaces of the specimen
